Mount Kenya, 9 Day Guided Ascent
You know a mountain is special when a country is named after it, and in the case of Mount Kenya, that is exactly what happened!
Mount Kenya is actually made up of several peaks, all of which you will get to stand on top of. Those peaks include Batian (5,199m), Nelion (5,188m), and Point Lenana (4,985m). Each one of those summits offers a truly spectacular view of the vast Kenyan landscape below. Mount Kenya is also the second highest mountain in the entire continent of Africa. Only the mythical Mount Kilimanjaro (5,895m) is higher!
As a result of this slumbering volcano’s immense size, the ascent will be gradual. Thus why the trip takes 9 days.
However, with a prolonged travel time, you will get to enjoy a prolonged experience in one of the most beautiful mountains in one of the most beautiful regions in the world. This adventure will consist of a variety of travel methods. You will get to travel by jeep, hike on long, wild trails, where the presence of wildlife is not to be unexpected, and enjoy some real rock climbing. And at the end of each day, we will rest in a comfortable hut. There is also the added bonus of spending a day and night in the lovely village of Nanyuki as well.
This incredible journey can be challenging, so you should be an experienced mountaineer. Also, it is important you are in good physical condition because some of the days can be very physically taxing.
Climbing Mount Kenya is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The views you will receive from the mountain’s different peaks, and the feeling you will experience when enjoying those views is something that I can’t put into words.
